Valentines 2015

I decided to make something simple for my daughters for Valentines Day.

I had seen a smaller version of this online somewhere.

STEP 1
Make the art in Word and print it

STEP 2
Cut the stencil by hand using a utility knife and a straightedge (ruler)

STEP 3
Attach the stencil to the board with rubber cement and pins

STEP 4
Paint the stencil with acrylic paint, using two colors

STEP 5
Remove the stencil
STEP 5 – B
Realize that rubber cement and pins were not the way to go with this
STEP 5 – C
Frown at the results.

STEP 6
Sand down the whole thing.

STEP 7
Ask a friend who is an artist if you can use her Cricut. Thank her for helping make a new, precision-cut stencil.

STEP 8
Paint that.

STEP 9
Remove stencil.

STEP 10
Redo the first attempt.
