Processed photography?

I don’t like obviously processed photographs.

all my photography heroes* process their images.

Two months ago, I read a tweet (that I since cannot find?!) that said something like:

“Looking at processed photography is like eating pre-digested food.”

The quote resonated with me.

Then, one month ago, CNN published this:

Art photography: When ‘reality isn’t good enough’

What do you think?

  1. It looks like a painting, doesn’t it? Perhaps what the photographer (or processor) is going for is the emotion? Remember the roiling clouds in Rembrandt’s (huge) paintings? I’m with you, though, real can’t be improved on in photography 🙂
